Activities
Situated on SH 85, Wedderburn is 150m from the Otago Central Rail Trail. It is the highest stopping point on the Rail Trail. It's all downhill from here! It is also the halfway point of the Rail Trail.
First settled in the 1850s, farming became the main activity after a short gold and coal mining era. Originally a coach stop, the Wedderburn Tavern was established in 1885. Adding to the allure of Wedderburn is the original railway goods shed made famous by the Grahame Sydney painting and the Vogel 5 railway station and ticket office.
