About Us

At the beginning of June 2010 Cheryl and Steve took over ownership of the Wedderburn Tavern. The couple have been in the Maniototo region for 20 years as farmers, looking for a lifestyle change from farming they saw this as a fantastic opportunity to learn a new trade and further promote the value and experiences the tavern has to offer.

Cheryl and Steve are a very determined couple and are always looking for new challenges. All the while of running the tavern, they share four beautiful children aged 5 to 12, who love the country and their new hospitality lifestyle. As if their day to day live isn’t busy enough, Steve is also a full time CMP drafter and Cheryl is a volunteer ambulance officer!

With the Tavern busy with the Rail Trailers, locals and passer-throughs they maintain a very high standard of food, alcohol and accommodation services all and all achieving a fun and pleasant experience for everyone.
