Welcome!
Built in 1885, the historic Wedderburn Tavern is situated in the heart of the Maniototo Plain on the Central Otago Rail Trail. Once the preferred stop-over for coaches and wagons, it is now the favourite destination for Rail Trail cyclists.
Located close to the summit and at the halfway point of the Rail Trail, Wedderburn is the perfect stop to explore and experience the uniqueness of Central Otago.
We offer southern hospitality, complemented by genuine country style menu and award-winning Central Otago wines.
Why not extend your stay and experience Central Otago yourselves? Or base yourselves here and do the Rail Trail downhill both ways!
Many historic sites and outstanding landscapes are within easy reach from Wedderburn. From Fleur's restaurant at Moeraki to the vineyards of Central Otago. So stay an extra day or two and see more of this wonderful place. Car and Van Rentals available in Wedderburn through Trail Rentals.
